EDU Archives Tutors
About us

A staffing & tutoring partner that puts people first.

EDU Archives Tutors is the trusted education staffing and tutoring agency for schools and families across the West Midlands. Founded in 2024 by experienced recruiters and educators, we exist to make matching teachers, tutors and learners feel less transactional β€” and a lot more human.

Our mission

Empowering excellent teaching and transformative learning.

We believe every classroom deserves a teacher who fits, every family deserves a tutor who listens, and every candidate deserves a consultant who tells them the truth. Our mission is to make all three of those true β€” every day, across every phase of education.

  • Truly tailored matching

We take the time to understand your school's culture or your child's learning style β€” and never put forward people we'd rather not see in our own classrooms.

  • Compliance over convenience

We follow DfE safer recruitment guidance and KCSiE 2024 to the letter. If a check isn't completed, the placement doesn't happen.

  • Specialist by sector

Separate consultants for primary, secondary, SEND, early years and FE β€” because the right TA for an autism resource base isn't a Year 4 cover.

  • Continuous quality assurance

Post-placement check-ins for schools, weekly progress notes for parents, and honest feedback both ways for candidates.

  • Fair to candidates

Transparent pay rates, prompt invoicing, and the same level of respect we expect schools to show our teachers.

  • Local roots

We know the West Midlands β€” the schools, the trusts, the local authorities, and the public-transport reality of being in school by 8am.

What we do

One team, two practices.

EDU Archives Tutors brings together two sides of education under one roof β€” staffing for schools and tutoring for families β€” so we can move pupils, teachers and learning between them.

Our standards

The bar we set β€” and never lower.

Safer recruitment, end-to-end

Every candidate is enhanced DBS-checked, identity- and right-to-work verified, qualification-checked at source, and reference-checked before they ever set foot in a school. Consultants train on KCSiE 2024 (Part One) annually, and our policies are reviewed every twelve months by an independent education specialist.

Inclusive, ethical and APSCo-aligned

We follow the spirit and the letter of the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003, hold ourselves to APSCo Education Code of Conduct standards, and operate under a published Equal Opportunities Policy. We don't play games with pay rates, hidden fees or restrictive temp-to-perm clauses.

Specialist SEND practice

SEND is a specialism, not a sideline. Our SEND consultants work directly with EHCPs, parents and local authority SEND teams to make sure the right specialist β€” ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD or PMLD β€” meets each pupil where they are.

Outcomes that you can see

For tutoring families, we publish weekly progress notes and a baseline-to-current dashboard. For schools, we run quality-assurance check-ins after the first day, the first week and the first month of any long-term or permanent placement.

Founders

Built by recruiters and teachers β€” who'd been let down by both.

EDU Archives Tutors was founded in 2024 by a small team with deep experience in West Midlands education recruitment and classroom teaching. We'd worked at the big agencies and felt the same things you have: candidates treated as units, schools treated as quotas, and parents stuck in the middle. We started EDU Archives to do it differently.

Today we work with primary, secondary and SEND schools, multi-academy trusts, nurseries, residential settings, alternative provisions and individual families β€” across Birmingham, Solihull, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Walsall, Dudley, Sandwell and the surrounding counties.
