SEND tutoring with specialists who understand your child.

SEND tutoring isn't just regular tutoring delivered more slowly. Our SEND specialists are experienced with autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD and PMLD — and align tutoring plans with EHCPs, school strategies and family priorities. Whether your child needs targeted academic support, confidence rebuilding, or a long-term home-based programme, we'll match the right specialist.

  • EHCP-aligned planning

Tutoring plans link to the outcomes set in your child's EHCP — not invented in isolation.

  • Specialist matching

We match by need: autism specialists for autism, SEMH specialists for SEMH — not generalists.

  • Sensory-aware delivery

Tutors adjust pace, language, breaks and sensory environment to your child's profile.

  • Home, online or hybrid

We adapt to where your child learns best, including children medically unable to attend school.

  • School & LA liaison

We work alongside SENDCos, EOTAS officers and LA SEND teams when relevant.

  • Long-term commitment

SEND tutoring needs continuity. We plan for stable, long-term tutor relationships.

How it works

Our process

  1. 1

    Discovery call

We listen — to parents, to the child where appropriate, and (with consent) to school. EHCPs and reports are reviewed.

  2. 2

    Specialist match

We propose a tutor with directly relevant SEND experience, not a generalist with one CPD course.

  3. 3

    Tailored plan

Outcomes link to EHCP targets where they exist. Sessions, environment and resources are all adjustable.

  4. 4

    Continuous review

Half-termly review with parent. Tutors flag concerns proactively — never via end-of-term surprise.

Working with EHCPs and EOTAS

If your child has an EHCP, we'll work to its outcomes and provision — including any specified hourly tutoring entitlement. We're experienced in EOTAS arrangements and can liaise directly with your local authority's SEND team where helpful.

Some families self-fund SEND tutoring; others use direct payments or LA-commissioned packages. We're happy to discuss either route.

Children unable to attend school

For children medically unable to attend school, or temporarily out of placement, our SEND home tutoring programme provides structured, in-home learning that aligns with the school curriculum or an EHCP plan. We coordinate with the school's named contact and provide attendance and progress reporting where required.

FAQs

Common questions

How do you match SEND tutors?

We start with the specific need — autism vs ADHD vs SEMH vs MLD/SLD/PMLD — then match by experience and training. We don't put 'someone who's worked with kids' in front of a profound learning need.

Can tutoring count towards EHCP provision?

Often yes, if it's specified in Section F of the EHCP and agreed with the local authority. We can help you frame the request — but the formal decision is the LA's.

How do you handle behaviour challenges?

Tutors are trained in de-escalation, low-arousal practice and trauma-informed responses. We never blame the child — we look at fit, environment and approach. If a tutor isn't the right match we'll change them.
