FAQs
Common questions about booking
What happens after I submit this form?
A tutoring consultant will call you within one working day. We'll have a 10–15 minute chat about your child's stage, goals and any context — then propose a matched tutor within 48 hours. Lessons can usually begin within a week.
Is the first consultation free?
Yes — completely. The 15-minute call is free and there's no commitment to book lessons afterwards. Many families take the call, think it over, and come back later — that's fine.
How much does tutoring cost?
Hourly rates depend on stage and specialism: KS1–KS2 from £30/hour, KS3 from £35, GCSE from £40, A-Level and 11+ specialists from £45–£60, SEND specialists from £55. We confirm pricing in writing before lessons begin and never charge any setup or admin fees.
How do you match tutors to my child?
We match on subject specialism, exam board, year group, learning style and personality — not just who happens to be free. If the first match isn't right, you can switch tutors at any time with no penalty.
Online, at home or hybrid?
All three. From Year 4 upwards, online lessons work brilliantly. For Reception, KS1 and SEND learners, in-home tuition is often more effective. Many families do a hybrid (mostly online with in-home sessions during exam terms).
Do you do SEND tutoring?
Yes — it's one of our specialisms. We match on specific need (autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD/SLD/PMLD, dyslexia, dyscalculia) and align with EHCPs where they exist. Mention any details in the SEND section of the form and our SEND team will pick it up.
Are your tutors safe?
Yes. Every tutor is enhanced DBS-checked, identity- and qualification-verified, reference-checked, and trained on KCSiE 2024. Home tuition follows our published Home Tuition Code of Conduct (parent in the home, shared space, photo ID, no contact outside agreed channels).
Not sure where to start?
Have a quick chat with one of our consultants — we'll talk you through your options with no commitment.
