Cookie Policy

What cookies we use on this website, what they do, and how to control them.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, keep you signed in if applicable, and (for analytics cookies) help the site owner understand which pages are most useful.

This Cookie Policy is part of our wider Privacy Policy and explains specifically how we use cookies and similar tracking technologies on eduarchivestutor.com.

2. Categories of cookies we use

We use only the cookies necessary for the website to function plus a small number of privacy-friendly analytics cookies. We do not use cross-site tracking, advertising or remarketing cookies.

3. Essential cookies

Essential cookies are required for the site to work properly. They are exempt from consent under PECR because they are strictly necessary. We use them for:

  • Maintaining your session and form state (e.g. partly-filled contact forms)
  • Remembering whether you have dismissed the chat widget previously
  • Storing your accessibility preferences if set
  • Protecting forms from spam and abuse

4. Analytics cookies

We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand which pages are most useful and where to invest improvements. Our analytics:

  • Anonymise IP addresses before processing
  • Do not track individuals across sites
  • Do not build advertising profiles
  • Are aggregated within 14 months
  • Can be disabled via your browser's Do Not Track setting (which we respect)

5. Third-party services

We embed or call out to a small number of third-party services, each with its own privacy regime:

  • Google Fonts — we self-host fonts via Next/font, so no Google Fonts cookies are set
  • WhatsApp — clicking our WhatsApp link opens WhatsApp (web or app), which then sets its own cookies; this is outside our control
  • Mail providers — when you submit a form, your enquiry is emailed to us via standard email servers; no third-party cookies involved

6. Controlling cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy
  • Firefox: Preferences → Privacy & Security
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, search and services

7. What happens if you block cookies

Blocking essential cookies will break some site functionality — for example, the contact form may not submit correctly. Blocking analytics cookies has no effect on the user experience; we simply won't have aggregate visit data for that visit.

8. Updates

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, particularly if we introduce or remove cookies. The current version and its review date are always shown at the top of this page.

9. Contact

Questions about cookies? Email info@eduarchivestutor.com with COOKIES in the subject line.

This is a summarised public-facing version. The full operational policy is held internally and made available to clients on request. Last reviewed: January 2026.
